Christchurch hospital is a tertiary referral centre and teaching hospital.
The Emergency Department sees over 80,000 patients per year. The senior medical
officers currently hold roles in the Ministry of health, ACEM College, ACEM
Court of examiners, University of Otago, HDC, ACC, RACS trauma committee, etc.
Their interests are diverse and include trauma, Wilderness and rural medicine,
toxicology, Quality, Information Systems to name a few.
