CANTERBURY DISTRICT HEALTH BOARD DENTAL SERVICES

Service Overview

Canterbury District Health Board (CDHB) funds and provides dental services in Canterbury, and also provides dental services for children in South Canterbury.

The main services provided are:

Child dental care: free dental care for children from
birth to Year 8 of school, usually provided through
school based dental clinics.
Youth dental care: free dental care for teens from
Year 9 of school until 18 years of age, provided by
private dentists who are contracted with the CDHB.
Hospital dental services

The management and support functions are delivered from
the Oral Health Centre, which is located on the corner of
Antigua and Tuam Streets.
